Happy International Non-Binary People’s Day everyone!

A non-binary person is someone whose gender identity falls somewhere outside the gender binary (the commonly accepted idea that there are only two genders: man and woman). Non-binary gender identities are generally included under the trans umbrella, though some non-binary people do not personally identify as trans. Non-binary itself is also an umbrella term, with lots of specific gender identities that fall under it.

Non-binary people describe, present, and identify their gender identities in many diverse ways, so remember that non-binary people don’t look a certain way, and that you don’t have to use they/them pronouns to be a valid enby (a non-binary person – “N-B”, get it?).

A reminder that while this day has been set aside specifically for non-binary pride and visibility, non-binary people have reason to be proud every day of the year. We see you every day. You are valued, you are perfect, you are loved.

Blessed Be
