To our PANFEST Family,

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that there will be no in-person PANFEST this year. An in-person PANFEST is unrealistic for the following reasons:

• The uncertainty inherent in this COVID-19 world, including the vaccination rollout
• In Alberta, our in-person, outdoor gatherings are currently limited to 10 people only
• Our preferred location is not available for booking
• Recommendations against inter-provincial travel
• Our lack of fundraising opportunities due to COVID-19 restrictions
• No insurance company will sell us insurance for live in-person events

Instead, we are very excited to announce that we will be hosting a virtual PANFEST 2021 on the August long weekend (July 30th to August 2nd) for our community! We’re going to have contributions from our Board and from you, our community. There will be diverse events and opportunities, just like at PANFEST in person. Even Temple is involved!

We look forward to coming together in spirit and creating community with all of you. This way, we will be able to gather in comfort and safety. We will be sending out a survey soon so that you can share your amazing ideas!

In addition to the survey, please reach out to any of the Board members directly or through social media, with any ideas for how you can contribute.
